The Role of a School Counselor
The elementary school years set the foundation for developing the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for children to become healthy, competent, and confident learners. Elementary school counselors have an impact on these years by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program and collaborating with school staff, parents, and the community to create a safe and respectful learning environment. By providing education, prevention, early identification, and intervention, elementary school counselors help their students achieve academic success, develop an understanding of career opportunities and develop social/emotional skills in response to issues they face.

Please click on the picture and learn more about each service.
While classroom guidance lessons and the Wellness Room are available to all students, small group counseling and individual counseling are implemented based on parent and teacher referrals. I will contact the parents when a student may be a candidate for small group counseling. If you would like to refer your student for individual counseling please contact me or fill out the referral form below.
Please Note: Students can request to visit with a school counselor at anytime. A school counselor may only pull a student from class and meet with them one time without a signed permission slip (except in circumstances when safety may be a concern, i.e., when a child is being hurt, or they are harming themselves or someone else).
